Buyer Persona Development

Know exactly who you’re selling to

A buyer persona is a clear, written picture of your ideal customer — what they want, what stops them from buying, and where to find them. We research it and hand you the document.

What this service actually is

We research your market and your existing customers, then write up 2–3 detailed buyer personas your whole team can use. Each persona covers who the buyer is, what problem they’re trying to solve, what they’ve already tried, what objections they have, and how they make buying decisions. This is a research deliverable — a document you keep and use — not a workshop where we guess together on a whiteboard.

Who this is for

  • Businesses marketing to “everyone” and wondering why nothing lands.
  • Teams where marketing, sales, and the founder all describe the customer differently.
  • Anyone about to spend real money on ads, a website redesign, or a rebrand.
  • Businesses getting leads that never convert — often a sign you’re attracting the wrong people.

What’s included

  • Stakeholder interviews with you and your team to capture what you already know.
  • Review of your existing customer data, analytics, and past campaigns.
  • A scan of how competitors talk to the same audience.
  • Two to three written persona profiles, each with goals, frustrations, objections, and buying triggers.
  • Messaging notes per persona: what to say, what to avoid, and which proof points matter.
  • A walkthrough session where we present the personas and answer your team’s questions.

What it isn’t

It isn’t a 200-page research report nobody reads. It isn’t invented characters with stock-photo names and made-up hobbies. And it isn’t a substitute for actually talking to customers — it’s the structured version of what those conversations reveal, written so your marketing team can act on it.

How we work

  1. Stakeholder interviews. We talk to you and anyone customer-facing on your team.
  2. Data review. We go through your analytics, CRM, reviews, and past campaigns for patterns.
  3. Customer input. With your permission, we interview a small number of your actual customers.
  4. Drafting. We write the personas and messaging notes.
  5. Walkthrough. We present the findings, refine them with your feedback, and hand over the final document.

What we need from you

  • Two to three hours of stakeholder time across the project.
  • Access to your analytics, ad accounts, or CRM — whatever customer data exists.
  • Permission to contact a handful of customers for short interviews (we handle the outreach).
  • Honest answers, including about the customers you don’t want more of.

Timelines

A standard persona project takes [FILL IN: duration, e.g. two to three] weeks from kickoff to final walkthrough. The biggest variable is scheduling customer interviews — the faster those happen, the faster we finish.

What it costs

[FILL IN: fixed project pricing and what changes it — number of personas, interview count]. Quoted as one fixed project price before we begin.

Common questions

How is this different from market research?
Market research describes a market. Personas describe the people in it — written specifically so your marketing and sales teams know what to say to whom.

What if we don’t have much customer data?
Then we lean harder on interviews and competitor analysis. Thin data just means we do more talking and less spreadsheet work.

How many personas will we get?
Usually two or three. More than that and nobody uses them. We’d rather give you three sharp ones than eight vague ones.

Do you really interview our customers?
Only with your permission, and we keep it short — 15 to 20 minutes. Customers are usually happy to talk when someone genuinely listens.

What do we do with the personas afterward?
Use them to brief designers, write ads, plan content, and train sales. The walkthrough session covers exactly how each team should apply them.

Why this matters before you spend

Every dollar of ad spend and every hour of design work is aimed at someone. If that someone is vague, the work is guesswork — and guesswork is expensive. Personas don’t guarantee results, but they make sure your marketing is aimed at a real target instead of a blurry idea of one.
